Texts:
a. Review Americares' annual report (which should be separate from the audited financial statements you will use for the questions below). After reading this document, discuss the nonprofit's accomplishments in the last year and answer the following questions:
i. In these reports, what does the entity use for measuring and evaluating their program accomplishments based on their goals and objectives?
ii. Discuss what they identify as future goals. If there are no future goals discussed, formulate ideas that you would like to see the nonprofit participate in the future.
b. Had you heard of this organization prior to this assignment? If so, how? Do a Google search on your organization. Describe both positive and negative publicity they have received (i.e., won any recent awards, been in any scandals, etc.) Did doing this search change your opinion of the entity in any way? Discuss. I have heard of Americares once or twice, but I did not know what the organization does.
c. Based on the above questions, identify what you think the nonprofit's biggest strength and weakness is? Describe what you would change about the nonprofit given the opportunity.
d. State your overall impression of the organization and note whether you would donate towards the cause based on what you have researched so far (before looking at the financial side).
