Part B: Simulation of Leg Muscles
1. You will be working in 1 group per table.
2. You will use the website www.getbodysmart.com to look up the information you need for this lab.
3. Enter www.getbodysmart.com into the address bar of your Internet browser window.
4. Click on Muscular System.
5. Familiarize yourself with the site by clicking on the options that deal with muscles of the anterior thigh, posterior
thigh, leg, and foot.
6. Find each of the muscles listed in Table 8-1 and record the origin, insertion, and action of each muscle. Within the
specific site for each muscle you can:
a. Move the slider to remove muscles around the one you are currently looking at.
b. Click on the word "origin" to see the exact location on the bone. Define "origin."
c. Click on the word "insertion" to see the exact location on the bone. Define "insertion."
d. Click on the highlighted action to see the animation of how the muscle moves bone.
