Plan two days' menu that consists solely of processed food: breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and drinks. No whole, unprocessed foods or drinks (including milk and juice).
Examples: frozen waffles, yakisoba noodle bowl, microwavable mac and cheese, hamburger helper, any frozen microwavable meals.
One day's menu will consist of regular processed food. The other day's menu will consist of "healthy" processed food, i.e. Weight-Watchers Healthy Choice or any other that claims to have health benefits.
2. Using the %DV information on the nutrient label, calculate how much of each nutrient you are getting for the day. Then analyze the menu - which nutrients are lacking; which nutrients are you getting too much of; how much of the "bad" nutrients are you getting? Is it possible to have a healthy diet by eating "healthy" processed food only?
Take pictures of the nutrient labels and include them at the end of your report.
