Problem 1 (DC Analysis):
Analyze each of the circuits (below), explaining how each
circuit behaves for different DC Vx values, as Vx varies from 0V to 5V. Pay attention to the
following questions, solving each analytically and supporting the solutions with ADS simulations:
a) For what Vx values is the MOSFET in Saturation mode? For what in Triode mode? For
what in Cutoff mode?
b) For what values of the varying supply do the transistor's drain and source reverse their
roles? (Comment: Recall that in a NMOS ID flows from Drain to Source. In PMOS ID
flows from Source to Drain).
c) Is there a body effect in any of the MOSFET transistors? If so, what is the threshold voltage
VTH as function of Vx?
Do the above analysis for channel width W = 20?m.
