b. You've been asked to set up a TCID50 assay in a 96-well plate to quantify the levels of infectious virus in a stock of Human adenovirus type 5 (HAdV-5). You've been provided with a confluent monolayer of A549 cells in a 75 cm^2 flask. The A549 cells were trypsinized from the cell monolayer and resuspended in a 10 mL solution of media. This cell suspension was then diluted 1 in 10 in Trypan Blue to determine the number of live cells using a hemocytometer. The cells were then placed under a microscope and the number of live cells was visualized in the indicated area (arrowed). Please see the below diagram.
