a) The software also allows linkages to be modelled and to determine their resultant
motion using velocity and acceleration diagrams. For comparison, you are required to
obtain, using velocity and acceleration diagrams, the velocity and acceleration of the
piston of a horizontal single cylinder reciprocating engine which has a crank OC of
radius 40 mm and a connecting rod PC 140 mm long as shown in the diagram below.
The crank rotates at 3000 rev/min clockwise.

of the piston using trigonometry.
