Students may choose their own topics, but they should be intrinsically interesting.
No two students may have the same topic. The teacher has the right to turn down a student's choice of topic.

Determine your topic
First, think about a question or series of questions – choose a topic that interests you and that you feel you will be able to collect data on. Your topic should have two variables that you are comparing.
Once you choose your variables, you should come up with a hypothesis for what you think the answer to each question will be. You can use the format: If ______, then _____.
