For centuries, there have been many synergistic interactions between mathematics and the physical sciences and engineering. However, the interaction between mathematics and the social sciences has yet to be fully strengthened or explored. This interdisciplinary area, an emerging frontier we call “mathematical humanities” or “quantitative social science”, will be the focus of this course.
