1. Comprehensive case study of air pollution prevention in power
plant: a power plant uses a fuel with mass composition of 85%
carbon, 1% sulfur, 9% hydrogen, 3% ash, and 2% moisture, the air
excess coefficient in the combustion is 1.5, 0.5% nitrogen in air is
oxidized to NO. Calculate the gaseous composition of flue gas,
explain how these pollutants are formed and their hazards to
environment, select technology to reduce the formation of these
pollutants during combustion, and design a complete route to
purify the flue gas and describe it in details.
