Practical application: This task combines a couple of things we learned in this lab; phase changes and cooling. This is why we have an additional “proxy” to temperature that we call “wind chill”. The “standard” formula used to calculate wind chill (w), for a given temperature (T, in degrees Fahrenheit) and wind-speed (u, in mph) is
w = 35.74 + (0.6215)T ? (35.75)u^0.16 + (0.4275)Tu^0.16. Use any programming language (or Excel) to produce a color-scaled contour plot for w for u values from 1–41 mph in steps of 5 and T values from 30–70°F in steps of 5°F.
