#1 Do you believe that we need to modify the 4th Amendment to allow the government to protect us from terrorism? If not, then I must ask "are you a terrorist?" (In my face-to-face class, people often say, "why should I worry about the govt. going through my personal stuff (cell phone, facebook etc.). I have nothing to hide. Only those who are up to no good would object to warrantless searches that are intended to protect us from terrorism." You can either agree with this statement, or if you don't, you must have something to hide...or is there some other justification to keep the 4th Amendment the way it is? Is it a big deal if the govt. (slightly) violates our 4th Amendment rights in order to protect us from terrorism? In other words, Can warrantless searches be ever justified?
