SECTION 4: CIRCULATION OF LYMPH AND LYMPHATIC VESSELS
Lymph is excess interstitial fluid from peripheral tissues that has entered a lymphatic vessel. Lymphatic vessels, or lymphatics, transport the lymph back to the bloodstream to help maintain normal blood volume and prevent edema in the peripheral tissues. Use the textbook to help you number the correct order of lymph flow back to the venous system.

SECTION 5: INNATE (NON-SPECIFIC) DEFENSES
Innate (non-specific) defenses are the body's first line of defense and protect against a wide range of pathogens without distinguishing between specific types. They include physical barriers, phagocytes, immune surveillance, interferons, the complement system, inflammation, and fever.
