Curvilinear Motion - Homework

A particle moves with a constant speed along a circular
path of radius, r = 2.0m. It covers one revolution every
4s. With reference to the axes shown in the figure, at
time, t=0s, the particle is at A (2,0). Answer the
following
1. Is the speed uniform?
2. Is the velocity uniform?
3. Find the average velocity over the first second, the
first two seconds, first three seconds, and the first
four seconds.
4. Find the average velocity over the first 5s, first 9s,
first 13s. Compare these values with the average
velocity over the first second. Can you find a
relationship between these average velocities? i.e.
can you find an expression for the average velocity
over the first 4n+1 seconds, where n = 0, 1, 2, 3,
4,.... and so on
5. In the previous question, what happens to the
average velocity as n→∞
6. Find the instantaneous velocities at the times at t =
Os, 1s, 2s, and 3s
7. Find the average accelerations over the first t = 1s,
2s, and 3s
8. Find the angles that the above accelerations make
with the positive x axis
