6. One physical quantity that a vector can represent is a force. In the coming weeks, we will learn how an object moves when a force is applied. We can already understand what happens when multiple forces are applied to an object using the mathematics of vector addition. Use this method to solve the following problem:
Two dogs pull on two sleeves that come out of an old, abandoned piece of luggage. They both pull with forces of equal magnitude, $F_A = F_B = 1.00 \times 10^2$ N (Newtons, the SI unit of force), but at different angles, as shown in the figure.
A) Determine the vector sum $F_A + F_B$.
B) Find the magnitude of the sum, $|F_A + F_B|$.
C) Is it equal to the sum of magnitudes, $|F_A| + |F_B|$ (or $F_A + F_B$)?
