What are we doing for those in our neighborhoods and communities who need our help? What are some ways you could explore the intersections of learning, labor, and service this Labor Day versus attending parades, taking trips to the beach and/or hosting picnics and barbecues? MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a National Day of Service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities. Martin Luther King, Jr., "Life's most persistent and urgent question was/is, 'What are you doing for others?'" I pose this for all of us to consider.
