Fermentation Tests
In this lab you will culture bacteria in broth containing a specific carbohydrate (glucose, lactose, sucrose, fructose and mannitol) to determine which of the carbohydrates (sugars) each species can ferment, if any.
Before coming to lab, read about carbohydrate fermentation (table 36.5, p. 757) in your textbook, view this video, then answer the questions below.
