For this question, i'm actually going to pick genetic drift and gene flow.

And the reason why i pick these is because i feel like of the four different terms for this, genetic drift and gene flow are the most easily confusable and also the least sort of intuitively obvious based on their names.

So genetic drift is actually almost the opposite of an evolutionary force, calling on a force is a bit of a misnomer as it is purely due to random chance.

Due to random chance, you can get rarer alleles in a population to just accidentally sort of be removed entirely.

And once an allele has completely vanished from a population, the only way that that allele will ever resurface is through a mutation that happens to be that exact mutation, very, very unlikely.

And so through genetic drift, you can sort of get these pretty actually impactful changes in a population's genetic code, despite they're not being any kind of, you know, quote -unquote, real reason for it to happen.
