Problem 33 of chapter 2 states, a car moving initially at 50 miles per hour begins slowing down at a constant rate 100 feet short of a stoplight.
00:11
If the car comes to a full stop just at the light, what is the magnitude of its acceleration? so first, we want to model this so we really understand and can visualize how the car will react.
00:24
So as i've done in the top left corner, we have the initial velocity of 50 miles per hour, the distance that it's traveling is 100 feet, and then the final velocity is zero miles per hour.
00:36
Due to the fact that our velocity is in miles per hour, we want to convert our distance to miles.
00:45
Therefore, what i did was i took our 100 feet, divided it by 5 ,280 feet, which is the length of one mile, to give us 0 .0189 miles being equivalent to 100 feet...
