A complete cell cycle in yeast takes 90 minutes. A pure culture of a yeast strain with a conditional, temperature-sensitive mutation in a cell division cycle gene (cdcts) is grown at a low, permissive temperature, then shifted to a higher, restrictive temperature for 2 hours. Just before the shift to high temperature, the culture will contain (lysed, growing, non-growing, different stages, the same stage) cells at (lysed, growing, non-growing, different stages, the same stage) of the cell cycle; after two hours, it will contain (lysed, growing, non-growing, different stages, the same stage) cells at (lysed, growing, non-growing, different stages, the same stage) of the cell cycle.
