What do we call a magnified image of chromosomes arranged by size? A. Karyogram B. Karyotype C. MRI Sex and Autosomal Chromosomes/Karyotype These are the two types of chromosomes found in organisms. Autosomal chromosomes do not determine an organism's sex. In any diploid cell, there will be 22 sets of chromosomes (44 total) that are autosomes; for humans, they are chromosomes 1-22. On these chromosomes are all the genes that determine all of our traits, excluding our sex. Sex chromosomes determine an organism's sex. There are also factors called sex-linked traits which determine some other traits in organisms. In mammals, the sex chromosomes are X and Y. For humans, the 23rd pair of chromosomes are our sex chromosomes.
