An electron-positron pair combined as positronium is at rest in the laboratory. The pair annihilates, producing a pair of photons (gamma rays) moving in opposite directions in the lab. Show that the invariant rest energy of the gamma rays is equal to that of the electron pair. Note that the invariant rest energy of the system of particles is defined by (mc^2)^2.
