How many sperm cells are there in an average human ejaculation? (a) 200 to 300 billion (b) 200 to 300 million (c) 200 to 300 trillion (d) 200 to 300 lacs
For each of the following questions, four choices have been provided. Select the correct alternatives. In a normal healthy person, a single ejaculation contains around $\quad$ sperms (a) 300 million (b) 150 billion (c) 150 million (d) 300 billion
Following puberty in young human males, spermatogenesis occurs as a continual process in the testes. As many as 300,000 sperm are produced per minute, per day. Spermatogenesis proceeds as two diploid spermatocytes divide during the first meiotic division to form two secondary spermatocytes, which are haploid. The secondary spermatocytes then divide during the second meiotic division to produce four haploid spermatids. The chromosomes in the secondary spermatocytes are duplicated and consist of two chromatids, while the spermatids consist of only one chromatid. The spermatids then mature into four spermatids, each with four chromatids.
