Problem (8): In steel factory one of the possible processes is that exposing the steel to the heat treatment as illustrated in the Fig (4.76). When we put the work piece at the front of conveyor belt driven by motor M1 the work piece touches the limit switch LS1 then the pallet starts transfer the work piece until it touches the limit switch LS2 then the work piece stops for 5 minutes inside the furnace where the heater H starts work, after that the heater stops and the pallet will transfer the work piece to the end of the conveyor belt, then the conveyor stops when touching the limit switch LS3. Design the ladder diagram program, then instruction list program, then functional block diagram program.

Step 1
Identify the inputs and outputs of the system: - Inputs: L1 (input conveyor), IS1 (input sensor), C (controller) - Outputs: LS2 (output sensor 2), LS3 (output sensor 3), C1 (control signal 1), L1 (output conveyor), H (heat treatment process), C1 (control signal Show more…

A constant "flow" of steel parts at $4 \mathrm{lbm} / \mathrm{s}$ at $77 \mathrm{~F}$ goes into a furnace, where the parts are heat treated to $1600 \mathrm{~F}$ by a source at an average $2100 \mathrm{R}$. Find the reversible work and the irreversibility in this process.
