Compare liquids with solids in relation to Forces between particles, Arrangement of particles, Kinetic energy of particles & Movement of particles.
Added by Sarah B.
Step 1
- In liquids, the forces between particles are weaker than in solids, allowing the particles to be close but not fixed in place, enabling them to flow. Show more…

how the forces between the particles affect the arrangement of particles in solids, liquids and gases
Adi S.
1. In a solid phase, particles are not moving. 2. Particles in a gas phase are very far apart. 3. In a liquid phase, the particles are constantly bumping into each other. 4. The particles in a gas are moving at high speed. 5. The particles in a solid are held together by various types of forces. 6. Solid A has a higher melting point than solid B. Therefore, the forces holding the particles together in Solid A are stronger than those in B. 7. As a liquid is heated, the particles move faster. 8. As a solid is heated, the particles stay still. 9. The forces between gas particles are very weak. 10. When liquid particles evaporate, they escape from the liquid phase.
