So as we come to the end of the skeletal system chapter, it's always important to review.
00:07
So the skeletal system, it's made of bone.
00:11
What is bone? bone is a connective tissue, right? it's a connective tissue.
00:16
It's the hardest tissue in the body.
00:19
And what makes it hard? it's hard because it's mineralized.
00:25
Connective mineralized.
00:27
And what mineralized is it, calcium phosphate, right? but bone also has some collagenous fibers in it, right? and that allows it to resist tensile forces and gives it a little bit of give so that, you know, just because you knock it on something, it doesn't break.
00:53
Okay.
00:54
And also within bone tissue, we have osteocytes.
00:58
And osteocytes are cells, right? sight means cells.
01:06
And so simple osteosite cells that make bone.
01:11
And so those are kind of the parts of the bone tissue.
01:14
And running through them, we have something called marrow.
01:18
And if you recall, marrow helps us to make blood cells.
01:25
A couple examples of bones that you may have learned about.
01:29
The femur in your thigh, the mandible, which is found in your jaw.
01:37
I'm using my mandible right now as i form words...
