When the brain needs to send a response to a muscle cell, after sensory information has been perceived and integrated, it sends a response to that input by stimulating a muscle cell. For this question, fully describe the events that occur in a muscle cell when it is stimulated by an action potential from a nerve cell. Describe the cell structures, the processes that lead to the muscle contraction, and all of the specific details of the muscle contraction. For full credit, make sure you include all terms, concepts, structures, chemicals, and processes involved in order to describe the process.

Neurons communicate with one another at junctions called synapses. At a synapse, one neuron sends a message to a target neuron - another cell. Most synapses are chemical. Other synapses are electrical. Which statement(s) is/are TRUE about electrical synapses? Select all that seem appropriate. allow synchronization of cellular activities are found in heart muscle tissue allow the movement of ions through desmosomes occur when there is direct contact between electrically excitable cells allow rapid communication between cells
Dominador T.
Most nerve cells communicate with others by means of bursts of electrical signals that pass across synapses. These signals are released from one cell and enter the next, bumping the synaptic cell membrane and transmitting chemical signals.
