For each scientific name, indicate what is wrong and then correct it to the appropriate format. A few rules to remember:
- The genus is capitalized, and the species is lowercase.
- When a scientific name is typed, it must be put in italics. When it is handwritten, it must be underlined.
- When abbreviating the scientific name, you must include additional characteristics of the genus name when you have species with a genus name that begins with the same character. For example, Chinchilla chinchilla and Chiropotes chiropotes would be abbreviated as Ch. chinchilla and Ch. chiropotes.
