Golden Tree Chocolate produces two main varieties of chocolate using the choicest premium Ghana cocoa. Kingsbite and Akuafo chocolate bars are produced mainly using milk and cocoa. Since the company earns GHC 300 from each box of Kingsbite chocolate and GHC 200 on each box of Akuafo chocolate, management has decided to ensure that the ratio of Kingsbite to Akuafo chocolate bars is not less than 1:2. Additionally, for the upcoming production month, it is envisaged that 75 gallons of milk and 120 tons of cocoa would be available for production. A box of Kingsbite requires 3/4 gallons of milk and 3/2 tons of cocoa. A box of Akuafo bars, on the other hand, requires 4 gallons of milk and 3/4 tons of cocoa to produce. Due to some contractual obligations, at least 60 boxes of chocolates must be produced. For the upcoming production month, the management of Golden Tree Chocolates wants to know how many boxes of each chocolate variety it needs to produce in order to maximize its profits.
