The Thoracic Cage is the bony structure that surrounds and protects the organs of the thoracic cavity. It consists of the sternum, ribs, and thoracic vertebrae. The thoracic cage is divided into three regions: the upper region, the middle region, and the lower region. The upper region includes the clavicular notch, the jugular notch, and the manubrium. The middle region includes the sternal angle, the true ribs, and the costal cartilage. The lower region includes the xiphisternal joint and the xiphoid process. The false ribs and the floating ribs are also part of the thoracic cage.
