What is the conspicuous part of moss?
Suman K.
Bryophytes include all of the following except Liverworts, Hornworts, and Mosses. They produce gametes referred to as the gametophyte. The haploid generation of plants is the gametophyte stage, not the diploid zygote. The beginning of the moss plant's sporophyte stage is the fertilization process. The sporophyte is a multicellular structure enclosed in a jacket of protective cells. The plant probably belongs to the phylum Bryophyta. It helps keep soil moist and reduces erosion. The reproductive organs of mosses are called antheridia and archegonia. Mosses do not have true vascular tissue like xylem and phloem.
