How does the concept of muscle length influence muscles' abilities to produce force when they cross two joints? They can only produce maximum force at one joint at a time. It allows them to produce a lot of force no matter their lengths or what they are doing at the opposite joint. They can produce extra active concentric force at both joints at the same time. The extra length gives them an extra ability to produce isometric force.
