Inflammation is an important component of the innate defense reaction. Identify the words that correctly complete each sentence regarding the steps of the inflammatory response.

Histamines and other immune system chemicals cause blood capillaries to dilate and the capillary walls to become more permeable (leaky). This causes blood plasma (fluid), with immune system proteins along with phagocytic cells and white blood cells, to seep into infected or damaged tissues. This causes the tissues to become red, hot, and swollen. Overall, this process is known as the inflammatory response.
Sulav P.
In the inflammatory response, clotting proteins form a clot. This action stimulates pain receptors. increases the permeability of blood vessels. walls off foreign particles and microbes. produces edema. phagocytizes microbes.
