Introduction: Everything can be measured and quantified. Units make such measurements organized and identified. In the health and medical field, different medical devices, specifically classified as diagnostic or monitoring, are used to obtain measurements and readings from the human body. These measurements, with appropriate units, are interpreted for the diagnosis of conditions.
Directions:
1. Search and choose a diagnostic or monitoring medical device. Be specific with the medical device, as you may use a particular model or brand of the device.
2. Write a description of the chosen medical device. Label important parts of the device. Obtain the following specific information about the chosen device:
- Purpose of the device: Identify what is being measured by the device and its units. Find all equivalent units and proper conversion of the units in SI and English.
- Technical specifications of the device: Focus on the dimensions (length, width, and height), volume, weight, etc. Find all equivalent units and proper conversion of the units in SI and English.
5. Present all information (including conversion computations) in an infographic format fitted on A4-sized paper. Use as many sheets as needed. Make sure the infographic is personalized and can be easily identified as your own work. Cite references properly.
