A man and his wife both have normal color vision, but their daughter has red-green color blindness, a sex-linked recessive trait. The man sues his wife for divorce on grounds of infidelity. Can genetics provide evidence supporting this case? Explain your answer using a hypothetical gene model (possible genotypes, sex chromosomes, etc.) for the parents and offspring.

A man sues his wife for divorce on the grounds of infidelity. Both the man and his wife have normal eyes, but the woman bears a baby daughter with Coloboma Iridis (a fissure in the eyes). This trait is a sex-linked recessive trait. (a) Can the man's lawyer use this as evidence? Why or why not? Explain. (6) Does the woman's lawyer have a counter-argument? Why or why not? Explain.

Red-green color blindness is an X-linked recessive trait in humans. Polydactyly (extra fingers and toes) is an autosomal dominant trait. Martha has normal fingers and toes and normal color vision. Her mother is normal in all respects, but her father is color blind and polydactylous. Bill is color blind and polydactylous. His mother has normal color vision and normal fingers and toes. If Bill and Martha marry, what phenotypes and proportions of children can they produce?
