Jess is 16 years old. She thinks a lot about what she wants out of life, and what kind of person she wants to be, but she isn't always sure exactly what her real feelings are about those kinds of questions. Sometimes she's not sure whether she does things because she really wants to, or because it's what her friends all seem to want. She also struggles to determine whether or not her parents' values and opinions are really the same as her own.
