00:01
We're going to be practicing dna replication.
00:04
So our first job is to write out a sequence of complementary bases.
00:09
So for dna, there are four nucleotides, a, t, c, and g, adenine, thiamine, cytosin, guan.
00:17
And the base pairing goes adenine to thiamine, cytosine to guanine.
00:21
So on this first sequence, i'm going to look at the dna strand we're basing it from.
00:26
When i see an a, i'm going to put a t.
00:28
When i see a t, i'm going to put an a.
00:31
When i see a c, i'm going to put a g.
00:34
If i fill it out a little bit more, i get to a g, i put a c.
00:39
So that's how you do the complementary bases.
00:42
And if you wanted to find the complement to this, you would do t to a, a to t, and you would get the original strand.
00:49
So that's the first step.
00:51
Next, we're going to practice replication.
00:53
So we have two strands.
00:55
So i'll start with the strand one original.
00:59
So i'm just going to copy out what we've been given...
