All right, so here i will outline the four stages of piajat's theory of childhood development.
00:10
And so first of all, we will start with the sensory motor stage.
00:16
And this happens from birth until about two years of age.
00:23
And during this stage, the major characteristics are that the infant understands the world around them.
00:32
Through their immediate movements and sensations.
00:36
So movements and sensations.
00:46
And they sort of learn about the world through basic actions, like sucking, grasping, looking, listening.
00:54
These just basic actions to interface with the world are how they learn.
00:58
And they around somewhere during this period, infants learned that things continue to exist even though they cannot be seen, which is basically object permanence.
01:07
That's when sort of this develops.
01:15
And finally, we have, they separate beings from the people and objects.
01:20
They realize that they are separate beings from the people and the objects around them.
01:25
And so it's sort of like self -awareness, understanding that they are not what is around them.
01:32
And finally, they realize that their actions have consequences.
01:35
They realize that actions can cause things to happen.
01:37
So consequence.
01:41
Moving on to the pre -operational stage, and i'll draw like...
