Introduction of alien DNA into a plant host cell is achieved by making them competent with divalent ions, using microinjections, using a gene gun, or using lysozymes and chitinase.

Place the steps in creating a transgenic crop in the order in which they occur in the process: Find the DNA gene of interest that you want to transfer into the plant and place it into a vector like a plasmid that can infect Agrobacterium tumefaciens. Add the infected Agrobacterium to small bits of plant cells so that they can insert their DNA, which can then be integrated into the plant chromosomes. Culture infected plant cells in medium to promote plant cells to regenerate into tiny plantlets. Expose the plant cuttings to herbicide to kill any cells that have not incorporated the herbicide-resistant gene into their DNA. Transfer the plant to the growth chamber to mature into a fully formed plant.
Adi S.
Which method is suitable for transferring an alien DNA into a plant cell? (a) $\mathrm{CaCl}_{2}$ (b) Biolistics or gene gun (c) Micro-infection (d) Heat shock
