So down below on the whiteboard, i have our four overall different types of chromosome shapes when it comes to our position of our centromere.

And that is how they are kind of named and identified.

So just going through all of them real quickly.

Starting on the left, we have what is known as metacentric.

And we can see that our centromere is kind of dead in the center of our chromosome.

And our kind of arms of the chromosome are known as p and q.

Not really sure if you have to know that or not, but that's just what our arms are called.

Next to that, we have submetacentric.

And submetacentric looks pretty similar to metacentric.

Our centrum here is just slightly off of our middle plane.

So our p arms are a little bit shorter than our q arms.

But overall, they do kind of resemble one another.
