Hi, thanks for joining me in a video today about protein structure.
00:05
So proteins are made of amino acids, and they're organized into basically four different structures.
00:11
Primary, that'd be first, secondary, tertiary is the third level, and quantinary is the fourth level.
00:16
So this is a matching question.
00:18
So i'm actually going to kind of do this in reverse order.
00:20
I'm going to start with number four, because that's the primary sequence.
00:24
That's the first way that proteins are built.
00:26
So primary, the answer to that one would be letter d.
00:30
Primary is just the linear sequence of amino acids.
00:33
For example, and i'm going to use the abbreviations of some amino acids.
00:37
Imagine we have serene as an amino acid.
00:40
Let's say that's bonded covalently.
00:42
It's called a peptide bond to maybe, i don't know, alenine here.
00:48
And maybe that's bonded to proline, another amino acid...
