In this video, we want to discuss in the context of teaching why it's important that teachers are aware of three things.
00:08
First, physical and motor developments of children, and then brain development, and then disabilities and disorders.
00:31
So it's obviously, it's important, they're kind of all interrelated in that all of these impact the learning process and the ability of children to learn and then if a teacher is aware of the different facets he or she can tailor their lessons to appropriately reach the children um so for example you know being aware of physical and motor developments of children uh impacts well like pe teachers are directly impacted by this by like the levels of flexibility and strength that children have in endurance over time and what they are capable of doing in a gym class and what would be best suited.

But even just like in a classroom where you're learning reading or math, you know, the concept of sitting versus standing and skills like walking in a line or holding a pencil or pencil, you know, lining up, all of their motor skills.
01:40
And the way that you would instruct a kindergartner to like stand in line or like what you'd expect to know them, to know about holding a pencil, it's going to be very different than what a fifth grader would need to know...
