Meninges of the Brain 9. Identify the meningeal (or associated) structures described below: 1. outermost meninx covering the brain; composed of tough fibrous connective tissue 2. innermost meninx covering the brain; delicate and highly vascular 3. structures instrumental in returning cerebrospinal fluid to the venous blood in the dural venous sinuses 4. structure that produces the cerebrospinal fluid 5. middle meninx; like a cobweb in structure 6. its outer layer forms the periosteum of the skull 7. a dural fold that attaches the cerebrum to the crista galli of the skull 8. a dural fold separating the cerebrum from the cerebellum

Meninges of the Brain 8. Identify the meningeal (or associated) structures described below: 1. outermost layer, tough fibrous connective tissue 2. innermost vascular layer covering the brain; follows every convolution 3. drains cerebrospinal fluid into the venous blood in the dural venous sinuses 4. structure that forms the cerebrospinal fluid 5. middle layer, delicate with cottony fibers 6. a dural fold that attaches the cerebrum to the crista galli of the skull
Madhur L.
Cerebrospinal fluid fills the space between the dural sheath and dura mater, dural sheath and vertebral bones, arachnoid mater and pia mater, dura mater and pia mater. Motor commands are carried by both anterior and posterior roots, ascending tracts, spinal nerves, cranial nerves, descending tracts from the brain to the spinal cord. Nerve fibers are insulated from one another by perineurium, endoneurium, fascicles, connective tissue, blood vessels. A ganglion is a cluster of neurosomas in the PNS, while dendrites cluster in the CNS. The anterior rami of the spinal nerves form nerve plexuses in all regions except the thoracic region, including the cervical, lumbar, and sacral regions. Which of the following is an ascending tract of the spinal cord? Lateral tectospinal tract, Medial reticulospinal tract, Ventral corticospinal tract, Vestibulospinal tract, Gracile fasciculus.
