00:07 So gram staining is a differential stain which tells about the gram positive and gram negative bacteria.
00:17 So in this first of all the cell is stained with the crystal voilet which is known as the gram stain.
00:28 And this here is the primary stain which gives the purple color to the cell.
00:35 After that, the cell is treated with grams iodine solution which is a mordant, which forms the boiled iodine complex due to which we receive the deep purple color of the stain and the specimens are darkly stained.
