Upon his arrival in the Radiology department you verify patient name and DOB by having the patient verbalize them as well as comparing that to the arm band. You ask Mr. Jones for his history as well as medication list. He informs you that he takes Lovenox to prevent blood clots. You ask when his last dose of the medication was and he tells you last night before bed. You know that blood thinners must be stopped 48 hours prior to any invasive procedure.
