'mRNA is translated into HIV proteins. Viral genes are transcribed into mRNA Capsids surround the new viral RNA genome: New DNA serves as a template for synthesis of a complementary DNA strand: Double-stranded DNA is incorporated into the host cells genome_ Virus enters a host cell: Reverse transcriptase synthesizes DNA complementary to viral RNA New viruses bud from the host cell:'

A ssDNA virus will use its genome as a template to directly produce: mRNA -ssRNA more ssDNA dsDNA dsRNA

A codon is a sequence of three nitrogenous bases on mRNA that corresponds to an amino acid. It is not a sequence of three nitrogenous bases on tRNA. A codon is also not a type of DNA repair enzyme or a promoter that prevents the attachment of RNA polymerase. The part of the ribosome to which mRNA attaches is called the ribosome binding site. Proteins called histones surround/associate with DNA to help organize it. These proteins can be modified to alter gene expression. Lamins, nucleoporins, and transcription factors are not proteins that surround/associate with DNA.
