Indicated here is an amino sugar called glucosamine. It is a structure found in chitin, a biological polymer. Glucosamine has a different structure compared to glucose, with an additional amino group. Chitin is found in the exoskeletons of insects, such as lobsters and crabs. The partial structure of chitin is also shown. Partial structure of chitin: NHCOCH3 Polysaccharides, such as starch and cellulose, have similar structures to glucose and glucosamine. Please provide comments on the molecular structures of starch, cellulose, glucosamine, and chitin.
