Another population of Simploids lives in Shady Grove, an area that is often cloudy and rainy. All Simploids have a gene called SUN1, which protects against the harmful UV rays from the sun. The Simploids living in Brighton are much more likely to have an allele of the SUN1 gene that offers more UV protection compared to those from Shady Grove. Some Brighton Simploids with the high-protection SUN1 allele decide to move to and join the Shady Grove population. Has the Shady Grove population evolved?
