a. Write a vector loop equation for Mechanism 1. Assume the slider translates only horizontally (in the x direction). Note that there is a GCS on the upper right grounded pin joint - the positive y direction is up, and the positive x direction is to the right.
b. Write a vector loop equation for Mechanism 2.
c. Draw a kinematic diagram for the linkage created by Mechanism 3 (which, by the way, is sup- posed to represent a piston in an automobile engine), and label the GCS and link angles according to common conventions. Write a vector loop equation for the linkage. Assume the slider trans- lates only horizontally, and its axis of motion passes directly through the grounded pin joint on the red link.
