Photosystem II takes electrons from water, energizes them, and passes them on to an electron transport chain. It uses light energy to transfer electrons to water. Additionally, it takes electrons from water and passes them to the ATP synthase. Photosystem II absorbs light energy to energize electrons and produce NADPH.
