All right, so for the first question, we're going to talk a little bit about stress.
00:05
Specifically, if you're talking to your 17 -year -old sister who's just about to start college, how can she manage, prevent, and cope with stress? so, i mean, there's a number of psychological theories and whatever, what have you, for stress management versus stress versus coping with existing stress, and those are different things.
00:32
So in terms of, you know, management and prevention, preventative measures being taken, you know, before the stress becomes a thing, one important thing, especially as someone who's about to go to college, is to know your limits, because it says in the problem statement that if you're talking to your sister who wants to do it all, you know, saying yes to everything, putting a lot on your plate is going to, to cause a lot more stress than knowing your limits and balancing out your responsibilities.
01:10
Schedules and routines are also really helpful so that you know what you're capable of and how to manage your time, making sure that you allot time for like, this is when i'll do my homework, this is when i'll go to clubs.
01:22
And speaking that, having a balanced lifestyle in terms of like making time for academics, making time for nutrition and health and sleep, getting enough sleep, all of those things, doing social things, and not just restricting yourself to solely like, i'm just going to study or having that narrow focus mindset so that you have outlets.
01:46
And then in terms of coping, it's different for different people, but if you want to, if you're telling your sister, like, if you find yourself in a situation where you do experience stress despite trying to prevent it.
02:01
There's breathing exercises are extremely helpful in therapeutic, meditation, yoga, like in the moment to deal with it.
02:11
Depending on who you are and your preferences, having a therapist or a counselor or a psychiatrist or someone to talk to about it.
02:21
Not that it's a good thing to rely on your friends, but sometimes friends in social situations can get your mind off of a stressful situation.
02:30
So there's a number of coping mechanisms find what works for you.
02:33
You know, sometimes just doing what you love can be helpful too.
02:36
So that's a little bit on stress.
02:39
Of course, you can go on for hours and hours on this topic, but this is just an overview.
02:43
All right.
02:44
For question number two, moving along to the topic of happiness, such an esoteric concept.
02:52
Like if we knew the answer to happiness, we would be a lot better off as a society...
